Twin Falls County Fair and Rodeo Events Center

Twin Falls - Filer, Idaho

2020

CD Smith Architecture is working with McCarty Holsaple McCarty for the fairground and building architecture for the Pioneer Center. The center represents an exciting new future for the Twin Falls County Fair and Rodeo. As illustrated in the photography above, the fair and rodeo have been an important focal point of the Filer community and Magic Valley for over 100 years. Known as one of the largest fairs in the Pacific Northwest, it’s mission is to “…provide a positive enjoyable experience while maintaining traditional values with an emphasis on youth and agriculture…” While the vision represented in this study to complete a new 5000 fixed seat Event Center, Warm-Up Arena and Expo Center meets not only the mission of the Twin Falls County Fair and Rodeo, it provides an economic, business recruitment and quality of life amenity for the entire region.

The Pioneer Event Center is envisioned to be a 165,000 SF multi-use community facility to accommodate a wide variety of uses and events including but not limited to rodeos, concerts, graduations, athletic competitions, family entertainment shows, car shows, religious gatherings, livestock as well as equestrian competitions and events. Accompanying the Event Center is an attached 53,000 SF Warm-up Arena. An additional phase includes a 37,000 SF Expo Hall which will augment the activities in the Event Center and also provide a key role for hosting conferences, fair activities, meeting events and exhibitions.
